Methodone for your Wire Addiction
I will spare you colorful accolades about how sick the HBO series "The Wire" is. If you are a fan, read on. If not, beg, borrow, or steal it and enjoy. A friend of mine sent me this link and I was instantly amused and fascinated by an uncensored early glimpse into the genius of David Simon. This file contains a "bible" of early character sketches, plot synopses, dialogue, and Sparknotes-esque analysis for reader enjoyment, all written by David Simon and Ed Burns. Want to see the earliest conceptions of this Macarthur-Genius-Award-winning series? Here it is in its humblest, most awkward adolescent stages. This is the end of the line for Wire heads. When multiple viewings (with/without commentary), wikipedia entries and online blogs, youtube clips and stimulating conversation with other heads cannot satisfy, here is the purest, most uncut version in the raw. This is the last vein to tap. http://leethomson.myzen.co.uk/ There are other early scripts for shows as well.

ReplyDeleteThis is AMAZING! Why oh why did you post this during the thesis crunch, mysterious Mister Pibb??? My fear of not finishing before graduation just became entirely legitimized...
